We are where we are because of our previous actions.

ELD Letter #35

Preface: We are all born into different circumstances, different traumatic events unfold upon us all. But through viewing all of those from what I would argue as the only relevant lese: our actions, we can see we are who we are because of the actions we took.

Taking all emotions out prior to this analysis.

When we take a step back from our life we can see that the last X amount of time is why we are who/where we are. This might be triggering, but it’s simply the most empowering viewpoint we can take.

Why?

Because it simply states that we can therefor change our actions and shape ourself into a different future version.

I’m going to take this personally for a second… I am not financially free because I haven’t made the choices that will lead to that, education or otherwise. I am not fully stepping into my potential because I’m not making the choices that that version of me would take, for fear or other reasons (like not visiting dark places that I’m scared to address that still lie dormant within me. We all have them…)

Cheeky quote from the band Disturbed: “Sometimes the darkness can show you the light!” I hope you just read that in his voice haha.

Point being, It’s on me. It’s my previous decisions that have made me ,me. It’s my current ones that WILL make me, me.

The current ones stack up, day by day and eventually add up into who we are and what we do with our life. This is the key. We decide, through our daily actions who we ultimately become.

Regardless of if you are surrendering to the universe and going with the flow, doing whatever feels right. Those actions will lead you to who you become.

Same for the person taking this personally and integrating practices and forging themself intentionally into who they want to be.

Point being, no one escapes the truth of this.

So how do we create new experiences and versions of ourself?

With different Inputs, specifically those that the future version of ourself would do. Inputs (actions) that over time, stack and create opportunity.

A circle (decision) + a circle will always equal a circle (outcome). They can’t be stacked, they are circular decisions that loop our behaviours causing stagnation in our life.

But a square (decision) + a square will always be a square. Which could be considered investment decisions, that stack and create opportunity in the future.

Make the choice, our time will pass regardless. We either create opportunity or we let time pass. No one escapes this.
